DANCIN PERKINS
Dancing Perkins March 08, 1932 – August 15, 2018
Robert Perkins was born March 08, 1932 in Granada Mississippi. Perkins, as close friends called him, came to Chicago and became one of the original performers in the Chicago Maxwell street area. The first name given to him on Maxwell Street was “Mr Pitiful and the Impallas”, later changed to “Dancing Perkins and the Blues Busters” which included his youngest son Chris Alexander. Dancing Perkins performed faithfully on Maxwell street with his band and was known for his crazy legs dancing while playing bass and singing the blues. He was and still is a Chicago Blues Legend.
